After the last few months of training on YouTube Live, Zoom, outdoor training and now back indoors all the HSTS students eligible to take their dan grades came together, but not altogether with other UTA students at the UTA headquarters in the Hitchin Dojang.
The candidates were separated into three groups to make sure we kept to the governing bodies guidelines having small groups.
After a warm-up all students were put through their paces with a thorough and comprehensive grading, some obvious elements had to be withdrawn but other elements put in place to compensate. The two 1st kup to 1st dan groups had a full two hours of performing all their practical elements as well as theory questions.
The last group comprising of 1st and 2nd dans had two hours full on practical and half an hour theory test. We felt it was a well-deserved grading as we take the responsibility of dan grading’s very seriously (nothing within the UTA is taken lightly we can assure you of that).
It was a pleasure to see all the hard work over the last few years all coming together with a great standard of Taekwon-Do from all the students grading.
